Cambridge Diet vs Weight Loss Surgery
The majority of my customers find my website while searching for information on weight loss surgery. Most people are afraid of surgery (with good reason!) and are desperately searching for information or alternatives. Maybe their doctor is encouraging them to have it and they are not convinced this is the best way to go. It is my hope to give these people an alternative so that they can then make the best choice for themselves and those that care about them.
I have sat in orientation meetings given by weight loss surgeons. Most of the people there, (and there can be 100 or more attending) are at least 120 pounds overweight, scared, and nervous. These days people who are 80 or more pounds overweight are being told that surgery is the only way they will ever be able to lose that much weight and they are often lead to believe that it is permanent. I have sat in orientations where they actually made these statements to a room full of desperate and hopeless feeling potential customers. I refer to them as customers rather then patients since they are basically being sold a product that the medical profession is promoting like someone selling time shares. They have their slide show of all the impressive before and after pictures as well as some amusing cartoons to try and lighten the mood. They go over the potential risks and complications and then immediately state that none of their patients have ever suffered any of these, followed up with more inspiring slides of satisfied customers. By the end of the meeting the people are lining up to talk to the surgeon and set appointments.
I have no issues with those who make the decision to have surgery to save their life and in some cases it is the correct choice. However, for a doctor to encourage drastic surgery as an alternative to going on a diet and exercising is malpractice as far as I am concerned. They are taking a healthy digestive tract and surgically creating disease for profit. That is not what medicine is supposed to be about.
I understand the desperation of being morbidly obese. I was over 330 pounds at one time with all the medical problems and pain that a person can have at that weight. I too was considering surgery 8 years ago when all my friends were having it done, but I did not have the money or insurance to go through with it. I truly felt my life was not worth living and had it not been for my kids… I may have found a way out of it. Knowing that this was how I was feeling back then, it only makes me more concerned that others in that kind of mental state are being lead to surgery when living may not really be all that appealing to them anyway. Had I sat in one of those meetings at 330 pounds I would have not cared at all about possible complications or death. Nothing in my mind was worse than what I was already going through.
In the past 6 years that I have been a Cambridge Diet Distributor I have spoken to many gastric bypass patients and their families. I have heard stories of success as well as devastating failures. Some find out too late that they traded one painful life for another. For some, the surgery and recovery is uncomplicated and the weight loss is amazing. For too many others it is a long road of trying to survive complications from the surgery and long term effects of a digestive tract that has been permanently altered and damaged, or a disappointing weight loss result that leaves them unable to lose the rest on any conventional diet. This is also how some finally find Cambridge. I have many past bypass patients that turn to Cambridge to prevent gaining their weight back or to lose what they were not able to surgically.
When you take in to account the risk, trauma, expense, possible complications, follow-up or corrective surgeries, weight loss failure, malnutrition, lost time at work, and the fact that they are learning more every day about the long term side effects of weight loss surgery including bone loss, liver failure, brain damage, and whatever else they uncover as time goes on, is it ever really worth it? In my opinion, in extremely rare situations, yes it is. If you are in danger of imminent death or permanent damage and there is no time to wait for the person to find a way to lose it on their own or the weight they have to lose is so high that it would take them years to lose it then it can be a medically correct thing to do, but that is not what is happening here. What is happening here is that the hospitals, surgeons, pharmaceutical companies and attorneys are all making billions at the expense of the obese.
When you consider that Cambridge can offer you the same rapid weight loss results of 4 to 7 or more pounds per week, (some lose as much as 50 in their first month!) and that when used correctly can actually assist your body from the balanced and complete nutrition it contains to heal and recover and rebuild making it’s users feel stronger, healthier, younger, and happier at a cost that is affordable for everyone, has over 30 years of research and public use behind it that has proven it to be a safe, healthy way to rapid weight loss….why consider anything else, much less surgery? You can lose the weight at the same rate without dissecting your healthy digestive tract and then go on to live a normal active life.
If you or someone you know is considering surgery, please do them the favor of letting them know that there is an alternative. In spite of what is being sold by the medical profession, surgery is NOT the only way to lose a large amount of weight. Cambridge users have been doing it for 30 years! And, unlike gastric bypass patients that find the weight coming back on after the first couple of years post-op, you can continue to use Cambridge when needed to help maintain your loss and to contribute to your overall health and wellness. If you are already using Cambridge…congratulations! You have made a good choice. If you have already had surgery, Cambridge is here for you if and when you need it. If you are still researching or deciding on what is best for you, please consider giving Cambridge a try. Give it a month and if you are not thrilled with your results and with the products, you can return them for a full refund. I know you won’t be disappointed and you will have the pride of knowing that you have done this yourself while still respecting your body.
